This was such a fun book to write. It's an enemies to lovers story, featuring two people who are tough enough to ride horses and rope cattle for a living, but not so tough that they can't melt inside when the timing is right. I really hope readers "get" Tegan and Jamie - their sass, their prickliness, their chemistry.
About the Author
Lilian Darcy was born on Valentine's Day. This auspicious date, as well as a love of reading, set her destiny as a writer of romance and women's fiction from an early age.
She has written more than ninety novels for Harlequin, Silhouette, Mira Australia, Mills & Boon and The Tule Group, and has also written for Australian theatre and television, under another name.
She has made many appearances on bestsellers lists, and has received five nominations for the Romance Writers of America's prestigious Rita Award.

A Must Read.

Tegan and Chet, both riders in the rodeo, are about to get married. Where most marry for love, these two are planning to marry for convenience. Tegan is an Australian native whose Visa is about to expire in the next few weeks. She knows that if she doesn't marry an American citizen soon that she risks losing her Visa and being forced to go back to Australia. Although Australia is home to her, she has no home to go to. Her family sold the farm that she was hoping to take over. She told them that she was only going to be gone for a couple years. She even came home when she was able to, but that didn't stop them. And now Tegan has no place to call home. Betrayed and determined to find a way to stay in the states, her and Chet arranged for this marriage to take place. However, when the wedding day came, Chet couldn't go through with it. Scared and confused, Tegan is left to figure out what she's going to do now.
Jamie MacCreadie knows how to draw the attention of the crowd at the rodeo and the women on the streets. He's a man of few words, but could get what he wants simply with his smile. Jamie and Chet have been best friends, but Tegan isn't too keen on Jamie. From the very beginning their personalities clashed, but something has changed. Trying to make Chet feel better about his decision to call off the wedding, therefore not being able to help Tegan, Jamie offered to marry her. Tegan brushed off his offer, but couldn't help noticing the physical attraction that she was starting to feel for him. She doesn't understand why she's having these feelings, especially since her and Jamie don't even get along. But could he have been serious? And could Tegan really consider his offer?
Marry Me, Cowboy is such an amazing book. From the very beginning I felt like I was on a rodeo ride of emotions. Each character had their own issues that they were dealing with, but through it all they were always there for each other.

Ok book, great deal for the price.

The good: can't remember if I got this free on special, or if it was .99¢ but at either price it was a good story. I really enjoyed the unique situation with Chet, and the green card being a factor. The rodeo setting was also a nice change. I actually liked the main characters and the parents. I don't always like the heroines in contemporary romance novels. (Preferring historicals)
The bad: well good or bad depending, this is a shorter story. I read it in under an hour. I did not like the sex scenes in the book. I'm ok with sex scenes in books, but I seem to dislike casual sex as a rule, and the earlier in the book it is, the more it bugs me. Just my personal preference, but there is a very early sex scene that I think could have been pushed back. It made them seem kind of trashy, it wasn't romantic to happen so quickly.
Overall: I was able to skip over the sex scenes, there was enough story to make it worth the read. I will look for more books in the series, as each book seems like a puzzle piece. I wish Marrietta was a real place, I am in love with the town.

Sexy Cowboy + Sexy Rodeo Girl = Must Read!

Tegan Ash is a champion barrel-racer from Australia who is planning on marrying her friend, Chet, for a green-card to stay in the United States. When Chet calls off the wedding at the last minute, his friend Jamie offers to take his place even though he and Tegan have never really gotten along. From there things get really interesting.
I loved this book right from the start. The characters were very real (including their quirks and imperfections) and the author, Lilian Darcy, did a wonderful job of describing everything to the reader so well that it was like I was there with them. And really, how can you go wrong when you are talking about a strong, sexy cowboy? It was a very quick and enjoyable read and I was almost sad when it was over because I wanted to read more about Tegan, Jamie, Chet, and their families.
