Stepping out of her comfort zone, she tags along to parties, learns how to play bocce ball, and even experiments with online dating. After a few heinous dates, she has a new appreciation for being single.
Olivia drinks in the many wonderful facets of life in a small town and embraces the culture. As the grapes in the vineyards ripen, her friendships evolve, bolstering her confidence and self-esteem. Finally, she has the strength to take the necessary steps towards a new career.

About the Author
Cortney is a freelance writer, wine blogger, and wine lover. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in Creative Writing, she worked in the restaurant industry in San Francisco and then moved to Napa Valley for three years. Back in the Bay Area, she is busy working on the second book in the Wine Country Series, Living with Grace.

Uncanny resemblance to my life!

A friend loaned me this book and I ended up with two Kindle copies, one gifted to me and one purchased by me, so it was a sign to read this book. My friend kept telling me I had to read it because the similarities between the main character, Olivia, and me were so similar. He was right. While this is a book about Napa Valley wine country culture and living, it's also a book about learning to love yourself and learning to take risks in order to live a passionate, fulfilling life. Like me, Olivia had a passion for wine, but had not yet developed the confidence and self-esteem to pursue her passion until she decided to temporarily move to Napa Valley to take an intensive wine course. The wine course is not the focus of the book, but rather Olivia's growth as a self-confident woman and wine professional. She steps out of her comfort zone many times and takes great risks to achieve her dreams and become a happier person. I am thankful that my friend recommended this book to me, as I have embarked on the same journey and am moving to Napa Valley in less than a week. If you are someone who has been hesitant about following your passion, then this is the book for you.

A Fun, Light-hearted Read

Olivia feels like her life is stuck in a rut and going nowhere, so she heads to Napa Valley for a three-month wine study class. Once she abandons her old, workaholic life for one inspired by savory vino and delectable dishes featured at the restaurants and bars around her new home, her life begins to transform.
Olivia's search for a boyfriend parallels her journey through her class, where she learns everything about the world of wine. With lush descriptions of gourmet food and drinks in most chapters, it's easy to put yourself into the scenes alongside the characters. Featuring many dates (some disastrous, some unexpected, some even pleasant) and plenty of bonding sessions with Olivia's new friends, WHERE I WANT TO BE is a wonderful book that'll make you want to reach for a nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc and some snacks to go with it.
