This is still a good reference to have

I gave this book only 4 stars because it is concise. I feel that this book should have the entire collection. My reasoning, I feel you miss much when Mr. Henry's thoughts are simply summarized as opposed to having his complete dissertation available. This is still a good reference to have, especially for those readers either new to the Bible or those who want to take their Bible study to the next level. I still suggest finding the complete commentary (which can be found online), but this book is a quick reference that one can still manage.

High Quality books and commentary

I am so glad to have this set. Henry was so prolific in his writings that the type must be somewhat small to fit it in a reasonable set of books. But the print and book structure are high quality. They look good on the shelf and should hold up well to my use of them.
As for the content. Henry has some of the very best spiritual insights on many passages that other commentaries simply avoid making comment. I return to this work over and over.

Over 200 hundred yrs and Matthew Henry is still one of the best and most extensive bible commentaries you can find. Yes the print is small, and can be hard to read especially if you have poor eye sight. But this set actually has bigger print than I've seen in other sets, I think it's due to this set being broken down into 6 books, and not the traditional 4 book set. If you want to have this bible commentary in a hands on book format and not in a digital context, then this set is great! Just be forewarned that you might want to purchase a book magnifier too.
